How it works

Every event, run like a call sheet

Sample run of show 30-person headshot day
  1. One planning email

We confirm headcount, send everyone a 2-minute prep note, and deliver a certificate of insurance to your building or venue.

  2. Setup, before anyone arrives

Station built and styled: directional lighting, sanitized single-use tools, and a schedule board synced to your photographer or event timeline.

  3. 15-minute rotations begin

Guests arrive on a staggered schedule — camera-calibrated looks for all skin tones, genders, and comfort levels. No one waits in line.

  4. Touch-up window

Anyone photographed after lunch gets a 5-minute refresh so the last photo of the day matches the first.

  5. We disappear

Station packed, space spotless, invoice in your inbox. Your only job was approving the date.

Weddings and prom groups get the same treatment — a timed morning schedule sent in advance, so the day runs itself.

Who's behind the brush

A licensed artist and a logistics obsessive

Glamour Bus is run by a husband-and-wife team in the Chicago area. [Wife's name] is an Illinois-licensed cosmetologist who has done makeup for [X years / weddings / events — add real credentials here]. Tanmay runs the operations side, which is why booking us feels less like hiring a freelancer and more like hiring a vendor: confirmed schedules, insurance paperwork before you ask, and a timeline for your day that actually holds.

We built this business around one observation — everyone loves how professional makeup makes an event feel, and no one loves coordinating it. So we made the coordination our product too.

FAQ

What clients ask us

Do you travel to us, or do we come to you?
We always come to you — office, wedding venue, hotel suite, or your living room. Travel within the Chicago area is included; venues beyond the metro area add a small travel fee quoted upfront.
Can I book hair styling without makeup, or vice versa?
Absolutely — every service works standalone. Hair-only bookings (updos, curls, blowouts) are common for events where guests do their own makeup, and many corporate clients book makeup only. Booking both together is the best value and means one appointment instead of two vendors.
Do you work with all hair types and textures?
Yes — our styling covers straight, wavy, curly, and coily textures, plus long, short, and fine hair. If you have a specific style in mind, send a photo with your inquiry and we'll confirm it's a fit before you book.
Do you work with men and people who don't usually wear makeup?
Constantly — often they're half a corporate headshot day. For most, it's invisible finishing: evening skin tone, reducing shine, taming flyaways. Participation is always optional and we make the skeptics comfortable.
What about hygiene and shared products?
Disposable applicators for every person, brushes sanitized between uses, and hospital-grade sanitation on the station. We follow Illinois cosmetology sanitation standards.
Can you handle all skin tones?
Yes — our kit is built for the full range of skin tones and undertones, and matching diverse groups well is a point of pride, not an add-on.
How far in advance should we book?
Two to three weeks is comfortable for corporate and group bookings. Wedding dates, prom season (April–May), and December book much earlier — if you have a date, ask now and we'll hold it while you confirm.
Do you offer bridal trials?
Yes — we recommend a trial 4–8 weeks before the wedding so your look is settled long before the day. Trials are held at your home or a location we arrange.
Are you insured? Our building or venue requires a COI.
Yes. We carry liability insurance and send a certificate of insurance naming your building or venue as part of standard booking — usually before you remember to ask.
Can you invoice our company instead of taking a card?
Yes. We invoice with NET-30 terms for corporate clients and can register as a vendor in your procurement system if needed.
